Shredder plant, Germany

By end of 2022 the EMZ team experienced another very special moment when we handed over a new shredder drive from the EMZ Heavy-Duty Range to Albert Hoffmann GmbH during the customer acceptance test in Recklinghausen: like all those motors from this model range this one is specially designed for driving a metal scrap shredder and is thus ideally designed for the extremely high mechanical and electrotechnical loads. Due to the permanent speed control of the liquid starter, our engineers paid particular attention to the cooling of the slip ring chamber. With the aid of an open-circuit cooling via external fan, it is ensured that the carbon dust is removed out of this sensitive area of the machine, guaranteeing a long service life and high operational reliability. Due to a screwless filter mat design, the slip ring chamber is also permanently protected from foreign objects.

During 2023, this shredder drive will replace an existing diesel drive at a recycling plant in Germany. The commissioning of the new drive system will be guided by our experienced EMZ service team.
