General overhaul of EMZ Refiner drive

Hardly distinguishable from a new machine, this 7 MW EMZ refiner drive shines in new splendour. The almost eight-year-old machine was brought from Great Britain to the EMZ headquarters in Recklinghausen for maintenance and overhaul. There, the water-cooled drive was completely dismantled and thoroughly inspected. The motor was then professionally reconditioned, new bearings installed and carefully reassembled. After passing the final inspection and being painted in the characteristic EMZ blue, the four-pole machine was prepared for dispatch and handed over to the forwarder. Finally, the drive travelled back to the United Kingdom, where it will be used as the main refiner drive for many more years.
